About the Artist
B. Vithal was Born in Maharashtra, He was a master sculptor and painter who completed his formal art training from the Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai. Both his paintings and sculptures display a clear understanding of the innate human form. While his sculptures are known for their monumentality, his paintings capture the personal and intimate. Horses, bulls, musicians, nudes and the people of Maharashtra are some of his favourite subjects. The artist, who lived and worked in Mumbai, passed away in 1992.
