Pavan Kavitkar holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Sir J.J. School of Arts, Mumbai (2014), and a Master of Fine Arts from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan (2017). Kavitkar perceives artistic creation as a journey of self-discovery and fulfilment, emphasising the importance of keen observation of the surrounding world.
Currently based in Nashik, Maharashtra, Kavitkar integrates his personal experiences and observations into a visual narrative. His art combines elements of Indian miniature painting from the 17th-19th centuries with aspects of middle-class urban architecture, creating a unique visual language. Kavitkar is passionate about education and has conducted workshops on traditional techniques like wash painting and paper making, sharing his knowledge with students and enhancing his understanding of current contexts.
