About the Artist
Kaushik Saha, born in 1997 in Kolkata, studied fashion from National institute of Fashion & Technology, Kolkata. He is well versed with the various textiles of India, using his expertise of fabrics, their weaves and tactility in his art practice. He uses the warp and weft of these textiles to explore themes of construction and destruction. His extensive research on fabrics and the cultural ecosystems of their making, coupled with his multi-cultural upbringing, heavily influences his life and work. He is driven by the multitude of personal and urban histories that he is surrounded by, making them visible through expressive and textural brush strokes that aren't shy to reveal varying emotional states of their maker.
