About the Artist
Gopal Adivrekar was born in 1938 in a Konkan village (Maharashtra). The artist completed his Bachelors Degree from the J.J.School of Art-Mumbai in the year 1963. The artist went onto become one of the bet abstract painter of his time. Adivrekar was closely associated with the Lalit Kala Academi and was also chairman of the Bombay Art Society. The artist passed away in 2008.
