About Artist
Born in 1985 in rural Maharashtra, Madan Pawar’s artistic journey began with a Diploma in Art Teaching from the Government School of Art, Aurangabad (2006). He then moved to Mumbai, where he earned a B.F.A. with First Class distinction from Sir J.J. School of Art in 2010, followed by an M.F.A. in 2013. His artistic focus found direction during a study trip to Jodhpur, Rajasthan, where the city’s geometric structures and vibrant hues became a lasting influence on his work. He has earned significant recognition, including the prestigious National Academy Award from Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi (2015), and the Best Painting Award from both The Bombay Art Society (2015) and the Indo-Swiss Students Achievement Award (2013). His solo exhibition was held at Jehangir Art Gallery in 2018, and he has participated in group shows at notable venues such as Tao Art Gallery (Mumbai), Nehru Centre (Mumbai), Red Earth Art Gallery (Vadodara), and Lalit Kala Akademi (New Delhi). His work is featured in corporate collections, including The Shipping Corporation of India, MSRDC Mumbai, and Alan Chun Japan.
