About the Artist
Ravikumar Kashi, born in 1968 in Bangalore, is a multifaceted artist whose work spans various mediums including painting, printmaking, installations, and writing, reflecting his deep social concerns and constant desire for artistic growth. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Painting from the College of Fine Arts, Bangalore, Kashi pursued a Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking from MS University, Baroda in 1990. He further expanded his intellectual horizon by obtaining a Master of Arts in English Literature from Mysore University in 1995. Kashi’s dedication to his craft has led him to participate in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including those at Gallery Sumukha (Bangalore and Chennai), Pundole Art Gallery (Mumbai), and Vadehra Art Gallery (New Delhi), as well as international shows in Hong Kong and the UK. He has also been recognized with awards from the Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy and the Bombay Art Society. His works are part of prestigious collections, such as the Lalit Kala Academy and Modern Art Gallery in New Delhi, as well as international institutions like the British Museum in Baroda. In addition to his artistic endeavours, Kashi regularly writes columns for major national dailies like The Times of India and The Deccan Herald and co-edits the Kannada cultural magazine Sanchaya. Currently, he resides in Bangalore, where he continues to create art and teaches architecture as a visiting faculty member at RV College of Engineering.
