About the Artist
Palash Bag is a contemporary artist celebrated for his evocative bronze sculptures that explore themes of play, survival, and balance within modern society. His practice frequently brings together animal forms and human figures in dynamic, carefully orchestrated compositions that reflect on vulnerability, instinct, and coexistence. Marked by intricate detailing and technical finesse, his works capture fleeting moments of stillness, tension, and movement — often suspended in a delicate equilibrium. Whether portraying quiet introspection or subtle interaction, his sculptures invite viewers to reflect on the fragile negotiations that shape everyday life. Palash Bag has a strong academic foundation in the arts, having studied at The Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship and later earning a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from Government College of Art & Craft, Calcutta. His works have been exhibited widely, both across India and internationally, establishing him as a significant voice in contemporary Indian sculpture.
