About the Artist
Promiti Hossain is a Bangladeshi artist who graduated from Kalabhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan in 2016, and continued her artistic practice in Dhaka. Promiti has participated in several national and international exhibitions, including being shortlisted for the Samdani Art Award in 2020. Her collaborative project “Personal and Social” earned her the jury's special mention at the Dhaka Art Summit. In 2022, she received the prestigious Prince Claus Seed Award. Her works are part of notable collections including the Samdani Art Foundation and Duryoj Dhaka Foundation. Promiti has participated in residencies such as Hampi Art Labs and the Samdani Art Residency, and her works have been showcased at prominent art fairs like the Venice Biennale and India Art Fair.
