Amrita Dhillon is an Indian artist based in Berlin. Originally from New Delhi, she earned her undergraduate degree in history from Bard College in New York. She is currently studying fine arts at the University of the Arts, Berlin, under Professor Thilo Heinzmann. Amrita is the 2023-24 recipient of the Dorothea Konwiarz Scholarship and the 2024 recipient of the Artists Inside Fellowship. She has shown in a range of galleries across Europe in cities such as Munich, Rome, Hamburg, and extensively in Berlin. The starting point for many of her paintings are family photos, historical images, popculture and film. She explores themes of alienation and nostalgia through her work, imbuing in it a sense of narrative mystery.
