About the Artist
Born in 1964 in Kolkata, Atanu Bhattacharya graduated with first-class honours in both BVA (Printmaking) in 1990 and MVA (Printmaking) in 1992 from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. His work has been featured in numerous prestigious exhibitions, including the 11th International Exhibition of Small Graphic Forms in Poland (2002), the 5th Bharat Bhavan International Biennial of Print Art (2001), and the National Exhibition of Art organised by Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi (2000 and 2001). His works are part of the collections at the National Gallery of Modern Art and Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi, as well as private collections in Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, the USA, and Germany. He has received several awards, including the Junior Fellowship from the Department of Culture, Government of India (1998-2000), and the Rabindra Bharati Visual Art Faculty's Graphics Award (1993). The artist is known for his abstract paintings, experimenting with printing ink and acrylic.
