About the Artist
Born and brought up in Assam, Bijita Sharma studied art in Bangalore and Baroda. She is enamoured by nature and its mystery and manifests it in some way in her paintings. She finds nature constantly appealing and says that it haunts her with its secrets. Her canvases depict in stunning reality, the carefree abandon with which childhood is lived and the relationship between nature and the beauty of the wild. Bijita works with physical components that make up nature - every little creature or a leaf or the fun and movement by any animal or birds - using vibrant colours and neat compositions.
