Senaka is one of Sri Lanka's most prominent artists. The artist had formal training in art and architecture from Yale University. Senaka held his first solo exhibition at the age of 10 and has more than 100 solo shows to his credit. Through his canvases, Senaka has sought to capture the issue of rapidly decreasing rain forests in Sri Lanka, but rather than depict the negative aspects, he tries to paint positive, happy paintings with brightly hued artworks of fauna and flora that give them a meditative quality. His works have received critical acclaim internationally. He has participated in numerous group and solo shows in Europe, Singapore, and Japan. Several internationally renowned print and TV publications have documented the artist's works. Senaka is now looking to do some work on endangered coral reefs. The artist, whose creations are part of several public and private collections, has been commissioned for works by the White House in Washington DC as well as the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The artist lives and works in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
