About the Artist

Ravi Mandlikborn in Achalpur, Maharashtra, earned a G.D. Art in Painting in 1984 from the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai. Mandlik also worked as a lecturer before dedicating himself fully to painting. His work is inspired by nature, particularly the forests of his native Maharashtra and Karnataka, which he often explores and captures in his art through textured acrylics. Mandlik's style revolves around the energy of nature, representing the formless movements of natural elements. Mandlik has exhibited extensively both in India and abroad, with solo exhibitions at renowned venues such as Jehangir Art Gallery, Tao Art Gallery, and Vinyasa Art Gallery. His group exhibitions include prestigious platforms like the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Mumbai, and international art fairs in cities like London, Brussels, New York, and Singapore. His work has been featured in prominent group exhibitions including 'Colors of Life' for the Cancer Patients Aid Association and 'Chivas Art Alive'. Over the years, Mandlik has received numerous accolades, including the international award of the Seychelles Visual Art Biennale in 1992 and the Bendre-Hussain Scholarship from the Bombay Art Society. He was also honoured as one of the five winning artists from India for the Winsor & Newton Worldwide Millennium Painting Competition in 1999. He has also served as a jury member for both the State Art Exhibition in Maharashtra and the National Exhibition of Art in New Delhi.
