About the Artist
Bhagwan Chawan was born in 1958. The artist received his Bachelors of Art from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai. Chavan has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in India and Paris. His work is included in prestigious collections like the National Gallery of Modern Art and the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi. He has received the National Award from the Lalit Kala Akademi and recognition from the Biennale at Bharath Bhavan, Bhopal. His global travels, including Europe, have influenced his distinctive style, which has also been captured in a short film, "Through The Window" by R. V. Ramani. Chavan continues to live and work in Chennai, drawing inspiration from diverse artistic traditions from across the globe.
