About the Artist
Niyamath Mehta found her calling early, when at just 16, she was selected as a protégé to master sculptor Jason Arkles in Florence, Italy. Here she expanded her technique, learning portraiture from life using the sight-size method of the old masters. She later became the youngest student at the Florence Academy of Art, where her skills flourished in figurative sculpture. Some of her remarkable works include depictions of the 'Polo Bear,' and a series of life-sized bronze sculptures that capture the full spectrum of human emotion. Mehta draws inspiration from surrealist masters like Salvador Dalí, Leonora Carrington, and Man Ray, as well as iconic artists such as Leonardo da Vinci and M.F. Husain. Dalí. Her work has been showcased at Artix India, India’s first hotel art fair, in association with Arushi Arts at The Claridges, Delhi. She was also the youngest artist on display at the Pallazo Albrizzi in the 2022 Venice Biennale. At just 23, she has established herself as a talented artist, with works that resonate deeply with surrealism and classical influences.
