About the Artist
K. M. Adimoolam was born in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu and completed his Diploma in Advanced Painting from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Chennai. A recipient of prestigious awards from the Lalit Kala Akademi (Chennai), Chitrakala Parishat (Bangalore), Bombay Art Society, Hyderabad Art Society, Academy of Fine Arts (Kolkata) and the National Award from the Lalit Kala Akademi (New Delhi), Adimoolam has served as a jury member for the National Exhibition of Art, New Delhi and Bombay Art Society's Annual All India Art Exhibition. He was the Commissioner for the Indian section in the Third Ankara Biennial at Turkey in 1990. Adimoolam's works have been displayed in numerous exhibitions in India and abroad. The artist passed away in 2008.
