About Artist
Aparajita Jain Mahajan is an abstract mixed-media artist whose passion for painting and nature emerged while studying at Rishi Valley School in India. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2003, majoring in Film, Animation, and Video, and further honed her skills at the Art Students League in New York in 2007. Aparajita has engaged in various social projects. She created animations for the Eternal Gandhi Multimedia Museum in New Delhi and assisted filmmaker Saeed Mirza in his tribute to Gandhi in 2004. Since 2009, Aparajita has participated in numerous exhibitions, including ‘Entwined’ at Apparao Galleries, ‘Unveiled Horizons’ at Vida Heydari Contemporary (2023), ‘Between Interruptions’ at Angelica Kauffman Micro Gallery (2023), ‘Attachment; Abbreviated’ – a digital exhibition for the ‘Taking Up Space’ initiative by the Thrive Together Network (2022), ‘Interactions’ at the India Habitat Centre (2016), and ‘The Line in Between’ at the Alliance Française (2012), among others.
