About the Artist
VENUGOPAL V.G. is a Bangalore based multi-disciplinary visual artist and art educator. He had his BFA in Painting from CAVA, Mysore and MFA in Printmaking from Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore. His art practice during the last decade includes Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Installations & Video Art. He has four solo shows to his credit and participated in major national and international exhibitions in India and abroad including Sri Lanka, Japan, Italy, China, Colombia, Turkey, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Switzerland, Taiwan, Finland Estonia, USA and Poland. He is the recipient of KK Hebbar Art Foundation Gold Medal; National Lalit Kala Akademi Scholarship, New Delhi; Karnataka Lalithkala Academy Award; National Scholarship, Dept. of Culture, New Delhi; H.K.Kejriwal Young Artist Award, Bangalore; Printmaking Fellowship, Karnataka Lalithkala Academy, Bangalore ; Camel Art Foundation Award; ‘Magmart – VII’ International Video Art Award, Naples, Italy; ‘Inspiration from Isolation’, New York Art Competitions; Pandemic as Portal Artist Grant. He has been a visiting faculty in several Art, Design & Architecture Institutions in Bangalore since 2006.
