About the Artist
Born in 1966 in Kerala, Binoy Varghese began his career at the Madhavan Nair Foundation in Kochi and later worked at the Cholamandalam Artists’ Village in Chennai. He holds a National Diploma in Fine Arts from the RLV College of Fine Arts, Kochi. Varghese also gained experience as an artist-in-residence at the Kanoria Art Centre in Ahmedabad, Apparao Galleries in New Delhi, and the Banff Centre for Arts in Canada.He has exhibited in numerous shows both in India and internationally, including in Canada, the USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Thailand, London, South Africa, Denmark, Italy, and Bangladesh. Varghese has received several accolades, including the Kerala State Award and the National Academy Award. The artist's background in the film industry and as a poster artist significantly influences his painting style.He is known for his photorealist paintings, drawing inspiration from photography, cinema, and digital media. His work often features women and children set against vibrant, busy backdrops. The artist currently resides and works in Ghaziabad.
