About the Artist
Nagesh Ghodke is a prominent contemporary Indian artist celebrated for his vibrant and abstract “villagescapes,” where shifting landscapes and memory converge. Drawing inspiration from ever-changing nature, his works transform rural environments into dynamic, multi-layered compositions pulsing with colour and rhythm. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Drawing and Painting from L. S. Raheja School of Art, Mumbai. His artistic sensibility was also nurtured during his formative years at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Latur, Maharashtra. Over the years, Ghodke has received several notable honours, including the The Bombay Art Society Award (2006, 2008, 2011) and a Gold Medal for Portrait from the Indian Royal Academy (2006), further affirming his standing within the contemporary art landscape
