About the Artist
Chandrima Bhattacharyya, born in 1963 in Kolkata. The artist completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan. Her artistic journey began with black and white ink drawings, gradually evolving to coloured ink, watercolours on paper, and finally acrylic on canvas. Bhattacharyya's art intricately weaves her deepest passions, aspirations, fears, and sorrows into complex compositions using expressive lines, textures, and surfaces. Her work has a mythical quality to it, often including fantastic, anthropomorphous animals.
