About the Artist
Born in Kolkata, West Bengal, Manisha Patil is a painter, art historian and professor. She has her BFA in Painting from Nagpur University and MFA and Ph. D. in Art History from Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU), Baroda. Manisha has taught at Govt. Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur and is at present Professor, Art History at Sir. J .J. School of Art, Mumbai. Her art finds its place in many public and private art collections. She has had several joint shows with her husband Prabhakar Patil at Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. Patil has widely contributed to the academic discourse in the art field in the form of essays in art journals, lectures, seminars and workshops.
