Surya Prakash was Born in 1940 in Madhira, Andhra Pradesh, He studied painting in Hyderabad and later trained under artist Ram Kumar in Delhi. With a career spanning over four decades, Prakash has been at the forefront of the art movement in the Hyderabad region and has held several solo and group exhibitions within India and abroad. He received a National Award from the Andhra Pradesh Lalit Kala Academy and has been jury member and commissioner for several national and state level exhibitions. His work is influenced by Impressionists like Cezanne and Monet, and he continuously experiments with new forms, colours and motifs. The artist passed away in 2019.
