About the Artist
Pralhad Anant Dhond was born in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. One of India's celebrated landscape painters in the medium of watercolour, he studied at the Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai. His work spans over seven decades and includes over 7,000 landscapes. From 1958, he was the Dean of Sir J. J. School of Art. He constantly worked and traveled to enrich his work. He has held many shows in San Francisco, Munich, South Africa, India, Kabul, Ankara, China and Russia. He passed away in Mumbai in 2001.
