Santoshi Tekam began her artistic journey at the age of six, drawing inspiration from her parents, Narmada Tekam and Rambai. On Sunday afternoons, she would sit between them, sketching animals and trees, often comparing her work to their paintings. Nature, especially tigers and crocodiles, is a central theme in her art, reflecting her deep connection to the natural world. Additionally, rituals like ‘Maun Upvas’, which involves remaining completely silent and passing under a cow seven times, made a lasting impression on her. This ritual has since become a recurring motif in her work, adding a layer of cultural significance to her nature-inspired art.Artwork
