About Artist

Pichwai
A form of traditional Rajasthani fabric painting that decorates temple walls behind the idol of Shrinathji. The word Pichwai derives from the Sanskrit words 'pich' (back) and 'wais' (hanging). Each painting personifies Shrinathji as a prince with jewels, surrounded by his 'gopis' or milkmaids.
