About Artist
N. R. Sardesai was born in a small village of Ratnagiri District in Maharashtra. He enrolled at Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, in 1906 to pursue art studies. He taught as an art teacher until 1930. He was popular for observation, understanding of light falling on the form, and the accuracy of drawing. He held exhibitions in Simla, Mumbai, Mysore and Chennai and his works are currently part of the collections at Prince of Wales Museum, Mumbai, J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, Nagpur Museum, and Sri Bhavani Museum, Aundh.Artwork
