The Doodles alongside mathematical problems have given way to effortless strokes on canvases that have seen over 25 exhibitions. For Lalit Maity, Who graduated form Government Collage of Art and Craft in 1986, art is an expression of freedom. A reflection of what exists in nature, An inspiration that gets interpreted in one's unique style. Much of this we see in his hold, confident strokes which create figures that seem to dance to soul music. Even the most intricate of paintings has a lyrical simplicity about it. A fluidity that is characteristic of every creation. Ask the graduate in Applied Arts what he loves painting besides human figures and Lalit maity's response is spontaneous, "Horses." He is member of Canvas Artists Circle. He participated in may group shows around India during the years 1997-2015 in Birla Academy, Academy of Fine Arts, Gallery Gold, Guwahati State Art Gallery. Artist Centre Mumbai, Lalit Kala Academy in Bhubaneswar, Habitat Centre in New Delhi and Concern India Foundation in Kolkata,Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.Artwork
