About Artist
Lal Bahadur Singh, born in 1985 , has an MFA from the College of Art, New Delhi. His artistic foundation was shaped by his early years in a Gurushiksha system in Gazipur, where his rural upbringing and connection to Indian village life began. His work reflects this background, with a focus on the flora, fauna, and landscapes of rural India, seamlessly integrated into modern urban contexts. His paintings often feature iconic rural symbols such as the parrot, cow, and bull, juxtaposed against changing urban landscapes, highlighting the tension and transition between rural traditions and rapid urbanization. His attention to environmental details creates a rich visual texture, while his ability to infuse unexpected combinations into his work adds an element of surprise and deep resonance. This distinctive storytelling ability, rooted in India's socio-cultural landscape, makes his work both thought-provoking and aesthetically compelling.Artwork
