Born in 1964 in Kolkata, Chhatrapati Dutta earned his Bachelor in Visual Arts from the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata, in 1987 and pursued post-graduate studies at the University of Athens, Greece, in 1988. He later completed his Master's in Fine Arts from Kala Bhavana, Santiniketan. Dutta is known for his mastery of painting on the reverse side and his use of subtle colors and textures to convey complex symbols and moods.
