About Artist
Atul Dodiya was Raised by a liberal Kathiawadi family in Mumbai, He is one of the most sought after contemporary artists today. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the Sir J. J. School of Arts in 1982. He depicts everyday life in the city through his works and experiments on everything from street art and sculptures to kitsch art, encompassing numerous different styles and intertwining Western art history with the folklore and popular culture of India. He received the Sotheby's Award in Contemporary Art in 1999 and was a part of a major traveling exhibition at the prestigious Tate Modern in London in 2000. He has held several solo and group exhibitions around the world. He is married to artist Anju Dodiya and lives in Mumbai.
